Log in to JIRA via Google Apps in Capture Chrome plugin

ClaireA February 5, 2014

I'm unable to log in to our JIRA OnDemand instance via the Capture browser plugin, and get a 401 error when trying to authorize. I believe it might be because we log in to our JIRA OnDemand using Google Apps OAuth. If that's the case, how can I log in with my JIRA credentials in order to use the browser extension?

Hi Claire,

JIRA Capture doesn't use your Google Apps user and password, it relies on the local user and password for your JIRA instance. When users first logged in using Google Apps, they were asked to set a password for JIRA, which is the one that Capture requires. If you don't remember that, you can log out of JIRA and use the Unable to Access link to request the password reset email to reset the password for the JIRA user; this will not affect your Google Apps password.

Cheers,
