I'm setting up JIRA Service Desk for a system where I want to be able to log a ticket against a named 'reporter', however that reporter won't have access to the system. When I try it at the moment I get an error advising the reporter is not a valid user. Is there a way round this?
Hey Tim,
If you are using JIRA Service Desk you should make sure all users you want to be Reporters to be Service Desk Customers.
This will not grant them access to "regular" JIRA, just the JSD tickets they create (or is created "on behalf" of them by an agent)
Note: this customer users will not count towards the JIRA license either
Hope this helped!
Cheers,
// Svante
As a potential solution to this I have created a custom field which does the job I'm looking for, however I'd like to just be certain that there isn't an 'out of the box' behaviour that can stop the system checking that the 'reporter' is a user.
