List users within the Jira Internal Directory

John Delaney June 6, 2012

Hello. We have two user directories configured. One is linked to our Active Directory LDAP and the other is the JIRA Internal Directory. I have Internal Audit onsite and they are insisting on seeing what users are configured within the JIRA Internal Directory. Does anyone know how to provide this? Thanks!

It is not possible to do it in the User Interface, which is a surpise because it shouldn't a hard thing to develop.

Your best bet is to retrieve the list from DB if it is just for auditing!

I found a workaround that works pretty well.:

  1. In JIRA, Go to your User List and change the filter to show All.
  2. On your browser, save this website to your desktop or wherever.
  3. In Excel, go to Data > Get Data > From Web
  4. Put in the URL of your downloaded site (easy to just open your downloaded site and copy paste the URL)
  5. In the navigator choose "Table 0" and check the preview on the right.
  6. Click Load.

Voila, a nice sortable list for you. You may want to now delete your site that you downloaded for security.
