Linking issues in Jira cloud from the edit issue interface seems to be much harder than it needs to be.
The "history search" only retrieves recently viewed issues. Clicking "+" only allows you to select recent issues or issues from a pre-made filter. This means that you either need to have visited the issue you wish to link to recently or to memorise the issue key to find it.
Bizarrely, when you already have linked your issue to something then "linked issues" will appear on the issue view, which opens a different interface and allows you to perform a normal text search by keyword.
Is there a way to -
- get the search to work as intelligently (by looking for keywords in the title or description) as the standard "Search Jira" simple search interface does?
- or to work around this in some way, e.g. by increasing the number of "history" issues Jira caches?
