Linking Jira OnDemand with FishEye

Dave Klostermann January 13, 2015

I am trying to link JIRA OnDemand with a local instance of FishEye.  I have followed the documents and I still can't get it to work.  I have Fisheye running on port 80 of the local server, and I have allowed all ports to come in.

When I create the application link in JIRA OnDemand, I select FishEye, then click the checkbox to Create incoming link.

And I select continue.  Then is asks for a Consumer Key, Consumer Name, and Public Key.

I've spent hours trying to integrate FishEye into JIRA OnDemand with no success.

There a quite a few resource materials available so I wanted to ensure you are leveraging our docs here:

https://confluence.atlassian.com/display/Cloud/Integrating+JIRA+Cloud+with+FishEye

Also, if you haven't already, ensure that you've checked the prerequisites:

Requirements for linking to server applications

To set up application links between cloud and server applications you must have administrator permissions on both the cloud application and the server application.

In addition, make sure you meet the following requirements.

  • All applications
    • The application must be accessible via either port 80 or 443 .
    • If you want to use SSL, you must use a valid certificate (not a self-signed certificate).
  •  Linking to installed Fisheye
    • The remote API must be enabled in both JIRA (Accept remote API calls parameter in General Configuration) and FishEye(Remote API parameter in Server Settings; always ON for version 2.9 and later).
    • Make sure that the base URL is set correctly in FishEye. See FishEye instructions.

More on that here: https://confluence.atlassian.com/display/Cloud/Linking+to+server+applications+from+your+cloud+instance

If everything checks out, it sounds like its either SSL proxy related:

https://confluence.atlassian.com/display/JIRAKB/Application+Link+authentication+fails+due+to+bad+URL+signature

Finally, what is the exact error message being presented and additionally, do the FishEye logs reveal any errors?
