I was trying to restore jira on my testing instance on PC from OnDemand, which both are registered with different email IDs. And I was asked for license when I tried to restore the backup.
1) Was it because of different accounts used?
2) Or I think I will need to get new license with same email ID from https://my.atlassian.com/?
I didnt know about license as I have tried installing jira more than once on my pc and now I have 16 license in list. Can anybody from jira support staff delete older license? I don't want to get blacklisted or anything.
According to the docs:
Your Atlassian OnDemand license cannot be used in a site installed from the standard JIRA download. You will need to generate a new "JIRA" license from https://my.atlassian.comfor your site installed from the standard JIRA download.
You can reuse your licenses for plugins in your site installed from the standard JIRA download. The licenses for Atlassian plugins and Gliffy for JIRA can be viewed on https://my.atlassian.com. You will need to contact your vendor for the licenses for all other third-party plugins.

And also I don't think these is a chance to get blacklisted :).
That's relief but still I have generated 16 license in last 8 days. I will be doing setup in front of client tomorrow and may try to install his backup locally so will you please confirm if evaluation license generated from his account will work?

Yes it should work. The only case when it would not work is if you've exceded the number of maximum evaluation licenses, but I'm not sure what is the limit, it will be better if someone from Atlassian comment on that.
