Label field can needs to be editable only by certain roles

I need the label field for a particular project to be editable only by certain roles. Is that possible?

another way is, remove the Label field from edit screen and add WFA as something like "Update Labels" and ladd labels to that transition screen so you can restrict to do that transition to specific project role by using condition.

we had the same requirement, we did as above.
