Kanban board Filter jql

mehdi April 3, 2024

Hello,
How I can get all tickets with their subtasks displayed in the KANBAN board using the 'committed sprint' attribute.

this 'committed sprint' attribute does not exist in 'Sub-Task' tickets.

Thanks

If you want to group all stories (with sub-tasks) by "committed sprint" on your Kanban board in Jira, you may need to adjust your board configuration. Here's an alternative solution you can try:

  1. Create a Filter:

    • Navigate to Jira.
    • Go to the Issues menu and select "Search for issues" to open the Issue Navigator.
    • Create a JQL (Jira Query Language) filter that includes all the stories and their sub-tasks that are part of the committed sprint. The JQL query might look something like this:
project = Project ABC AND sprint = "Committed Sprint Name" AND issuetype in (Story, Sub-task)

Replace "Project ABC" with the key of your project and "Committed Sprint Name" with the name of your committed sprint.

  2. Configure Your Kanban Board:

    • Go to your Kanban board.
    • Click on "Board settings" and then "General".
    • Under the "Saved Filter" section, select the filter you created in step 1.
  3. Group by "Committed Sprint":

    • Once your filter is applied to the board, you can group the issues by "Committed Sprint" by configuring swimlanes.
    • Go to board settings again, but this time choose "Swimlanes".
    • Select "Queries" and then add a new query using JQL similar to the one you used in step 1:
      sprint = "Committed Sprint Name"
    • This will group your stories (with sub-tasks) by the committed sprint.

By following these steps, your Kanban board should group all stories and their sub-tasks by the "committed sprint" as per your requirement. If you encounter any issues or need further assistance, feel free to ask!

Thanks ,

Hi @kchouk mehdi ,

welcome to the Atlassian Community!

  • Kanban board: You should go to board settings -> swimlanes and choose Stories. In this case subtasks will be under the parent.
  • Scrum board: Subtasks are not visible in the Scrum boards in the Backlog view. But subtasks are visible in the Active Sprint view.

Thanks,

Geethanjali
