Hello All,

To start of, I'm very new to JIRA upgrade process

I want to upgrade JIRA from 3.x version to JIRA 6.x version.

My 3.13.4 is running on windows server

We already have a 6.x version running in Linux environment. So, basically I want to upgrade 3.13.4 to 6.x  version in linux environment and merge it to the current instance (6.x which is also running on Linux environment.

What is the process to do so ?

There are lots of documentation however the issue is that "there are lots and lors of documentation". Please help.

Do I update 3.13.x directly to 6.x or upgrade 3.13.x to 4.4.5 and then to 6.x ?

You mentioned the upgrade to be performed by Fallback.. Can I use the below menthod :

https://confluence.atlassian.com/display/JIRA/Upgrading+JIRA+Manually ?

You can follow https://confluence.atlassian.com/display/JIRA/Upgrading+JIRA+with+a+Fallback+Method to upgrade JIRA, but if you want to merge two instances, you will need to upgrade 3.13.4 to the same version of the one that you have in Linux and then follow https://confluence.atlassian.com/display/JIRAKB/How+to+Merge+JIRA+Instances wink
