Jira upgrade 7.2 to 7.3 went wrong

Ahmet Oezdemir January 18, 2017

Hi,

we tried upgrading JIRA Core and Software from version 7.2 to 7.3 bit it went wrong. After hours of trying to recover configuration we decided to do a roll-back.

We did an unzip of the backup and replaced the /opt/atlassian/jira/ directory and installed database backup. After that JIRA start was fine and all plugins worked except JIRA software.

JIRA shows the error (Applications -> Versions and Licences):

JIRA Software is licensed but not currently installed.
Trying to install JIRA software through JIRA addon manager itself failed.
What can we do to recover JIRA 7.2.
Thank you
Regards, Ahmet

Hi Nic.

We did like you said. Still doesnt work. It installes JIRA Software, but then all our Boards are gone. Probably many other settings too. We again needed to restore everything. Can you find something in the logs?

Logs: https://www.dropbox.com/s/wvqubpkubhi0y8m/atlassian-jira.log.1__?dl=1

FYI: I removed the board link smile

Thank you very much for your help

Regards, Ahmet

Don't use the add-on manager, it isn't an add-on.  Use the Application manager.

I would suggest removing it completely, restarting JIRA and then adding it again, reading the logs during the download and install process for errors.
