I am using the CDATA to connect Jira to Excel. This does a good job to allow me to include the data I need. However, I have a number of custom fields defined. I can see the table that defines these, but I cannot see the table that stores the actual data. My query looks at issues for a single project so I just need to join the custom field data and I'm good.
I know the "preferred" option is to use the API, but the CDATA connector is simpler and allows me to get to the data that I need so the API isn't right for my requirement in this case.
