Jira project migration not working

Sys Admin October 20, 2014

We have a JIRA 4.4.5 which we have successfully update to 5.2.4.1. Now we need to migrate project from the updated JIRA to another 5.2.4.1 Jira. While project migration we face a problem. Please find the problem below -

"The Issue Link Type 'Gantt Dependency' is required for the import but does not exist in the current JIRA instance"

After this problem we can not migrate project. We do not have any Gnatt plugin in both 5.2.4.1 version JIRA but we had Gnatt chart plugin in our 4.4.5 version from which we configured update version Jira. After this we have installed Gnatt latest version plugin in our 5.2.4.1 JIRA but still this problem persist. Could you please inform how we can overcome this problem ?

Hi there,

I believe you have to either add an issue link alike in the instance you are going to import into or remove the issue link altogether from both of the instances. The project import requires both instance project configurations to be exactly the same.

Please see this page for configuring issue link types: https://confluence.atlassian.com/display/JIRA/Configuring+Issue+Linking

Can you check if you had an issue link type "Gantt Dependency" in source JIRA ?
I assume, you would need to add a similar link type in Destination JIRA as well.
