Jira project migration from 6.3.14 to 6.4.5 versions

Fisseha Mariam September 30, 2015

We have JIRA projects on a JIRA server that is on version 6.3.14 that we would like to import to another JIRA instance running version 6.4.5.  Can you please advice the best way to perform the project migration between these two versions?

In that case you'd need to first upgrade the data from JIRA 6.3.14 to version 6.4.5. You can either:

  • Set up a new (temporary) instance of JIRA 6.4.5 and import a backup from JIRA 6.3.14;
  • Or you can upgrade the older version directly to 6.4.5.

Then, you'd need to create a new backup from the new JIRA 6.4.5 instance and use it to restore the project in the target instance. This entire process is described on Restoring a Project from Backupsmile
