Jira outgoing SMTP server IP ranges

Nathan Tong November 19, 2017

Hi, does anyone have a list of ranges for Jira SMTP servers? I keep getting emails blocked by our spam filter due to spoofing. I have an exclusion rule setup, but the IP addresses they list (https://confluence.atlassian.com/cloud/atlassian-cloud-ip-ranges-and-domains-744721662.html) dont seem to cover their outgoing SMTP servers.

I have been adding IP addresses as they show up, but it seems like the list is quite extensive. Here is what I have so far:

168.245.31.0/24

167.89.127.0/24

168.245.9.225/32

168.245.48.17/32

Jira support keep pointing me to the above website, and dont seem to have any idea beyond that.....

Did you allow the ones listed at https://ip-ranges.amazonaws.com/ip-ranges.json ?

Hi Boris, thats a lot of IP addresses, however the above IPs are not in the list. Which so far as the ones that have been sending me notifications.

Did a whois on the IPs you provided and they are Sendgrid. Unfortunately it seems that Sendgrid does not provide us with a list of all IP ranges they use. I think you should ask Atlassian support to explicitly reach out to the internal services team that manages Sendgrid and have them pull down the IPs which are either in a shared or dedicated pool used by Atlassian.
