Hi Guys,
I was just reading somewhere on the Jira site that suggested that Atlassian takes a backup of your Jira data every 24 hours however it can not be used to restore deleted data ( only for disaster recover by Atlassian). I am aware that backups can be manually taken from the backup manager however I am looking for something more automated.
Is there any way to script a backup of a Jira on-demand instance and move it to an external source e.g ftp, webdav, dropbox ?
Thanks in advance for your suggestions

Hi Tung,
It is possible to generate and download backups automatically with a script. An example of such a script can be found here:
The backups can be automated, check out https://github.com/ghuntley/atlassian-cloud-backup which is a backup agent for the Atlassian Cloud.

this script is not supported anymore so I created a new script (python) to automatically download the backup file and upload it S3 (AWS) every X days:

This should be provided by atlassian for ondemand instances. Just do one back and overwrite it every 24h or so. Kinda said it's manual only
