Jira on demand: Can we have a custom gadget pointing to an iframe

Stuart Moore November 30, 2013

I understand that there are limitations to the gadgets that we can add to a dashboard in Jira on Demand. Could we have one that created an iframe pointing to a url we could specify? That would allow us to add data from other sources to the dashboard.

NOt sure if this will be possible. Usually you would use the text gadget :

but because of a potential security risk this is not possible in OnDemand...

Dissapointing, but I can understand it. I think that an iFrame ought to be possible to be made secure, but I can understand why it's not a priority.

Um ... can't put a cumulative flow diagram on a dashboard? I'm not sure, but it seems distinctly possible to me that, here in 2014, Jira may be the only Agile lifecycle management tool in the world with a limitation like that. Why isn't there a dashboard gadget for every report it generates? Surely that can't take more than one programmer more than one day ... I mean, it's an iframe for crying out loud ...
