In my case, that's because of JIRA can't see itself. DNS problem.

It seems not a bug in Jira. That's because of our network environment. Jira can't reach itself by the base url. The solution is to add a local route entry into hosts, or add a entry in your DNS server.

x.x.x.x jira.yourcompany.com

So that jira don't need to go internet and then back to jira.yourcompany.com, which is broken.

I also refers to the https://confluence.atlassian.com/jirakb/how-to-fix-gadget-titles-showing-as-__msg_gadget-813697086.html

I also met the gadget title issue, which lies in the same cause.

Briphant, I have the exact same problem. When user logs into JIRA and opens his dashboard using HTTPS address I see this error.

Did you manage to resolve it?

Could someone else help with this?

i also faced same issue at the time of login into JIRA .

please any one suggest me here to sort out this problem.

Hi,

I got this error when upgrading to JIRA 7.1.9. I had to add 127.0.0.1 jira.mycompany.com (note the space between the IP address and the host name) to my /etc/hosts file on the JIRA server and then restart JIRA. Not sure why this is needed all of a sudden but that solved my problem.
