Jira is showing "This app may require an approval from your admin."

Those new to the Atlassian Community have posted less than three times. Give them a warm welcome!

  • I have created a team managed project. Now I want to add Timesheet Tracking for Jira. But I am not able to add it. It's showing App request & This app may require an approval from your admin.
  • Then I have tried to check settings & have found that "You do not have access to Jira settings or Atlassian admin, contact your Jira admin to grant you access.".


  • Then I have checked project settings->Access & have found myself as Administrator.

 

Now I am totally confused. How can I fix this problem?

Hi @jobayer34 

Jira has different layers of Administrator. You are a Project Admin within your Team-managed Project - but from an instance-wide perspective, that makes you a normal user.

However, to install an App on your instance, you need to be an Organization or Site Admin.

You'd be best to contact your Admin team (this might be IT Support or similar) and ask them if they'd install this App for you!

Welcome to the community @jobayer34 

Jira admins are the ones who have the Administer Jira global permission. This also involves installing the apps as well. If you are not the Jira admin, you would need to contact them in order to install the app for you.
