Jira import files/attachements

Vincent Sennesael February 7, 2017

Dear madam or sir,

we are planning to make in import from our own build old issue system to Jira (We have a cloud based licence). Tests using a csv via the JIRA import wizard worked fine.

We also have 500MB of attachements. Those we wish to import too. Before starting this, I have two questions:
1- increasing "The maximum file upload size" to 500MB (or a bit higher), will it ensure a fluent upload?
2- if we place our files on one of our public accessible webservers, will Jira be able to import those, or do we still need to set up some additional authentication between Jira and our webserver?

Hi Vincent,

You can put your attachments on your JIRA server.

See the first part (File Protocol) of following page https://confluence.atlassian.com/jira061/jira-administrators-faq/usage-faq/how-to-import-attachment-using-csv

And you don't need to change the settings "maximum file upload size" unless there are attachments bigger than your current files.

Regards,

Dave
