Hi, one of our user granted an email group edit access to his dashboard, including himself in the group. But today the group got deleted. He lost his own dashboard's edit access. How can we get him back?
Hello @Jason Liu
If the user is the Owner of the dashboard then they should still have Edit access.
A Jira Administrator can review and change the Owner of a Dashboard by navigating to the gear/Settings option and selecting System, then find Dashboards under the Shared Items grouping.
Find the Dashboard in the list and you will see the Owner of it displayed. The Jira Administrator can click on the three dots to the right of the item to find the option to change the Dashboard Owner, if that is necessary.
Hi Trudy, thank you for your response. I checked that the owner is the user but his dashboard won't show edit dashboard option. Do you know why?

Are you a Jira Administrator?
How did you verify that this user is the owner of that dashboard?
What options does the user see for the dashboard? Can you provide a screen image?

Hi Trudy, yes I'm Jira admin. I checked the dashboard name in system-shared dashboard and the user is the owner. The user cannot see edit dashboard option. I tried to upload the screen shot but it always failed.

Are there any other users/groups who have edit permission on the dashboard?
I had something similar happen when the jira-administrators group had edit permission on the dashboard. At that point, any other users that were specifically granted edit permission didn't actually have it until I removed the jira-administrators group from the edit permissions.
I don't remember whether this impacted the owner or not.
