Jira cloud Dump incomplete due lost user passwords!

Danny Mensen February 4, 2016

When we do a Export/Dump from JIRA Cloud we have missing  user passwords!

Back to august 2015 we did and upgrade to JIRA Cloud. now we have an other JIRA  server instance running we want to merge also to the same cloud.

The cloud instance has no project import option so Atlassian said we could migrate the cloud back to an server instance then import from the other server instance and go back to the cloud.

So we made cloud export from the web interface and downloaded the dump from our WebDAV.
Afther importing the dump to our local temp JIRA server we have missing users passwords.

After exploring the entities.xml file all our old users that are still using the cloud have "nopass"

And also the temp database from the cloud backup:

Problem we facing too is missing user passwords (in the cloud dump) for all users from before the cloud update back in 2015.

Only new users made in the cloud have a password.

So before we can do our migration we need a complete back-up from JIRA Cloud!
