ezadin mahmoud November 8, 2018

Hello,

we like to upgrade JIRA v7.3.7 (production)to the latest JIRA v7.x.x

What is the lateste JIRA v7.x.x ?

Can we upgrade directly from JIRA v7.3.7  to latest JIRA v7.x.x ?

Do we need also to upgrade JIRA v7.3.7 (test) to the latest JIRA v7.x.x ?

or we can upgrade it to another JIRA v7.x.x whichis compatible to the latest JIRA v7.x.x ?

Which Jira 7.x.x is compatible to the latest JIRA v7.x.x ?

Thank you for your help

First you should make a search about the Jira Software Documentation and it's upgrade guides! There are tons of them in the official Atlassian site! Please make also a search here in community because this question is already answered before! (i had the same question one time ;) )

You should read the Release notes and the upgrade guides. Check these two too

https://confluence.atlassian.com/adminjira/jira-applications-compatibility-matrix-875304597.html

https://confluence.atlassian.com/jirasoftwareserver/jira-software-server-7-12-documentation-938845020.html

Of course Jira has Software & Service Desk , Confluence Bitbucket and so on... so for every product you should check the upgrade notes seperately and how to correctly create the proper staging environment!

Check also the scripts that may run in the background! And ALWAYS have a copy of DB & ALWAYS make the test upgrades in a Test Environment

But to answer also your question directly... yes you can upgrade it directly to the newest :)

Kind regards
