Jira (Server) in Windows Server 2012/IIS8

Fernando Grimmer November 9, 2017

Hi everyone.

My instance of Jira server was up and running (as a service in Windows Server 2012) but suddenly I've got the error: The Bad Request - Invalid Hostname / HTTP Error 400. The request hostname is invalid, trying to access Jira Site (http://192.168.0.1:8080).

In the same server I have Confluence up and running (http://192.168.0.1:8090).

I think the problem is related to IIS, because there is a binding related to port 8080 to Jira, but there isn't a binding ralated to port 8090.

I've reinstalled Jira (upgrade option), but it didn't work.

Would anyone give a help in this matter please?

Thank you in advance, and best regards,

Fernando Grimmer.

Hi Fernando,

You can only have one binding on a port at a time.

It sounds like IIS has bound to 8080, which is preventing JIRA binding to the same port.

I would try disabling the binding in IIS, restarting the JIRA service, and see if you can connect then.

Kind regards,

Seb.

Thank you Seb, I did it and Jira is up and running again.

Kind regards,

Fernando.
