I am running a Jira 9.4 server and have updated to 9.4.17. Recently I received a security report stating I need to update to 9.4.26. I downloaded this update and installed it but was not able to launch because the update was released after the expiration date of my server license. However, Atlassian is no longer providing server licenses beyond Feb 15, 2024. so as far as I know I cannot get a license that would allow me to run these newer updates. So my question is, why is Atlassian still producing security updates that nobody can use? I would assume that someone is using them so they are still providing licenses to someone. Is there a path to get a server license that allows the use of these Jira Server updates released after 2/15/2024?
Hello @Eric Johnson
If you Google 'jira server license expired' you will find all the times that question has been asked and answered on this forum before.
Why is Atlassian still producing security updates that nobody can use?
They can be used... by those people who switched over to a DATA CENTER product license so that they could install any patches / updates released after the 15th of Feb.
Is there a path to get a server license that allows the use of these updates released after 2/15/2024?
Nope. The window of opportunity for SERVER product licensing closed forever, seven months ago.
I did google this already and am aware of the Jira server phase out and the impact to licensing. It is confusing that the software downloads page for these updates lists some releases as DATA CENTER only, and some not. Why wouldn't they say DATA CENTER only for all the releases after the 2/15/2024?
