Jira Project - project, sub-group

Hi,

For a JIRA project can you have a label: project, sub-group (asked by a team looking for this option)?

You can use whatever labels you need in whatever project you want.

I suspect that this is not helpful to you, but I'm afraid the question is very unclear.  There's all sorts of things you might mean if you changed the words you're using, but I can't try to guess my way through all of them.  Could you explain in more detail?
