Jira OD to Jira Server Migration.

Perfect Theif June 24, 2015

I am trying to move to Server Instance of JIRA from OD Instance. But when restoring the zip file in JIra Server, created in JIRA-OnDemand and restore is giving an error attached below when using mysql database. If i am using posgresql then error changes which gets down to ask me login details after 20% of restore progress, which is not working when entering correct password.

Might also be worth the shot to run the cleaner in your backup, just to be sure: Removing invalid characters

I believe that you're facing a problem which resolution steps are detailed on this Knowledge Base article. If even after performing them you still encountering problems, please raise a ticket at Atlassian Support portal.

I suggest you to check if your database was properly created, according to our documentations:

Check the database collation, and also, if you are running in a supported version:

https://confluence.atlassian.com/display/JIRA/Supported+Platforms

 

Then if you are still facing the same issue, I suggest you to run the XML cleaner against your XML backup:

https://confluence.atlassian.com/display/JIRA/Removing+invalid+characters+from+XML+backups

I suggest you to contact the Atlassian support. They see lot of similar issues and can fix quickly
