Jira Hosted - BaseUrl Change

App Admin January 29, 2014

We recently went through a namechange, and would like to change our base url for our jira hosted projects from old.atlassian.netto new.atlassian.net, without affecting any of the current artifacts. Is this possible?

According to this documentation: https://confluence.atlassian.com/display/ONDEMANDKB/Changing+the+OnDemand+instance+URL+address

the better approach is:

  1. Go to https://www.atlassian.com/ondemand/signup/ to request a new OnDemand instance with the desired URL.
Note: Atlassian OnDemand will be offered on atlassian.net (so your service URL would be at account.atlassian.net). The use of custom URLs is not supported at this time, but you can vote for a related feature request:AOD-5311- Allow custom domains for OnDemand ACCEPTED .
  2. Use the backup manager to export data from your existing OnDemand instance. Export instructions can be found at this link:Exporting issues
  3. Import data to the new OnDemand instance. Import instructions can be found at this link: Restoring a JIRA OnDemand Backup into a JIRA OnDemand instance

I hope it helps!

Cheers.
