Jira FreshBooks Connector - Exception when displaying configuration page

When I get to the freshbooks plugin configuration page in the admin (/secure/freshbooksSync.jspa?decorator=admin), I get the following exception:

 

[com.atlassian.velocity.DefaultVelocityManager] MethodInvocationException occurred getting message body from Velocity: java.lang.NullPointerException

It used to work (I was able to access that page in the past, and sync up with my freshbook account) - what can I do to make it work again?
