Jira EMail logs

MarkoR June 13, 2012

Hello,

I was unable to find answer to this in answered questions...search always shows 50 pages.

Question:

Is there a way to check jira logs to see if email was sent from JIRA. Right now we have a "problem" some users received an email for new issue creation while some other did not.

There were no errors in jira stdout_log file related to email sending, in Message queue there were no pending items and errors. Logs on exchange also confirmed that no email was sent to some users..

This is unrelated to security and notification scheme since same users are getting emails for other issues now and in the past.

Is there a way to enable logging for every single email sent?

Thank you in advance, kind regards.

Hi Marko,

you can enable the email protocol logging as described here: https://confluence.atlassian.com/display/JIRA050/Logging+email+protocol+details

Best regards

Sorry for the late reply.

We had a similar isssue and wrote a plugin for compensation. You can now see in the issue who has ben notified.
