Jira Cloud: Set up external client access to only their projects

Marcus Mietz October 2, 2017

We have a Jira Cloud instance and at some point in the future we want to allow external clients to view the projects we work on for them.

I've looked through some questions before and found none of them are specific to Jira Cloud, mostly on-premise Jira, or they don't really cover something as simple as allowing someone to view and comment on issues, or involve some add-ons to Jira. Or the conversation just stops after an answer has been accepted.

Simply adding users in the Jira Cloud user management and giving clients access that way would most likely increase our monthly subscription costs which is something I'd like to avoid.

Is this even possible in Jira Cloud, and if so how do I set up external users in Jira Cloud so they can see and browse the projects and issues concerning them and not projects of other clients?
