Jira Capture - How do you report total session time against Issues?

Swinton Swinton January 23, 2014

I've recently had Jira Capture installed - we're creating test sessions, many of which relate to the same Issue ticket.

How do i then get all sessions related to an Issue (Story for example) and pull out the combined total session time for that particular area of functionality?

This is key for us as metric in our End of Test Reports, I'm assuming we aren't expected to have to trawl through all the readily available data and manually total up the times logged against each session?

There's really is no such reporting for JIRA Capture sessions available as you have for JIRA issues currently. This issue is being tracked here:
https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/BON-1664
https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/BON-40

The workaround that I guess a few people have adopted is to raise a specific JIRA issue (you may even have a special issue type for all such issues) and associate it with the session, just to track session details, and then you may be able to use available JIRA reporting tools/gadgets/plugins for statistical reports or time tracking of your sessions.
