Jira 5.2: Best practice for creating project?

Marvin Sanders July 5, 2013
When you're new to a platform it's a little difficult to know whether it's working the way it's supposed to or you're just missing something. Would somebody be kind enough to confirm my findings so far on creating a project in Jira 5.2? 1. To create a project you must be an admin. 2. If you want to give non-admin users the ability to create projects, it would need to be through an add-on like Project Creator for Jira. Does that sound right? Thanks for any help! Marvin

You have read it correctly (for all versions of Jira - 2.something to the current version). You have to be a Jira system admin, or a Jira admin, in order to create a project.

To allow lesser mortals project-create needs plugins/code/etc
