Jira 4.0 to 5.2 & Timesheet Plugin

Keith Howard April 25, 2013

We are in the process of upgrading from 4.0.2 to new JIRA instance, 4.4.5 ultimately 5.2. We did this in a multi-step process on new server to 4.4 then upgrade 5.1 successfully transferring the databases to each version.

We’ve noticed the timesheet plugin needed to be deleted and re-added on my dashboard when I initially logged onto 5.1 . The Jira Timesheet plugin appears to now use a key.

1) Is our license key to be the same for the Plugin?

2) Since 5.1 is on a separate production/test server do we need to disable it?

OR

3) Should we plug in the key on 5.1 or wait until we download 5.2 - or does it make a difference?

Since JIRA 5.x the Timesheet plugin is commercial, you have to buy a separate license. The old gadgets were becomming invalid with one of the past versions. You have to remove the gadgets and add the current ones.
