JIRA stopped creating tickets automatically from e-mails.

Owen Robbins August 21, 2015

JIRA stopped creating tickets automatically from e-mails, but it still can access the e-mails through IMAP. JIRA reads the e-mails then deletes them, but it never creates the ticket. This is only happening in one of our projects the rest are still working fine. Anyone know what might be be preventing JIRA from creating tickets from e-mails?

I ended up creating a new project and copying the current settings to the new one. Everything seems to be working fine on the new one now.

Hi Owen,

Maybe the workflow of the issue type associated with the email ticket creation has been changed? Specificly the Validators for the Create transition.

Check also the email logs @ atlassian-jira-incoming-mail.log

Hi Owen,

This happens for particular users or all users?

If you have multiple user directory then make sure you don't have duplicate users.

We recently faced this issue for users which are available in external directory as well as internal directory. We deleted user account from one of the directory and then those users able to create JIRA ticket from email.
