JIRA on Issue Create Change Status

How do I set a status to approved if an issue has a high priority upon being created Thanks

You have several ways to do this. You can create an Event Listener or a Post Function. In both ways, you'll have to perform a transition of that newly created issue which will transit that issue into the destination status.
