JIRA not stopping - taking a very long time

We are getting the following error while stopping JIRA:

SEVERE: Exception sending context destroyed event to listener instance of class com.atlassian.jira.startup.LauncherContextListener

java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: org/codehaus/groovy/runtime/GroovyCategorySupport$1

Yeah this happens with script runner... it doesn't have any functional effect, but yeah it is annoying. There are bugs for it in jamieechlin.atlassian.net/wiki/display/GRV/.
