JIRA import - can I get all of my links?

Chris Ryan September 15, 2013

Hey all,

We're migrating a CSV file, exported from IBM RTC. The CSV contains dozens of "link" attributes, but the importer I belive only allows one link type imported.

Is there a way to import all of our links? Perhaps with the JIRA CLI?

Thanks much,

Chris

Hi Chris, CSV still not possible to import issue links which is one of the limitation. An improvement has been raised for this issue: https://ecosystem.atlassian.net/browse/JIM-640

As an alternative, you can use JIRA CLI or you can use the JSON importer (still in Beta) in JIRA. Both options allows you to import the issue relations.

Thanks a million for the quick response.

We'll keep that in mind during our migration.

Hey Chris, make sure a test has been make upfront to avoid any disappointment especially using json import as it's still in the beta stage(there may be unknown bug).

Hi all,

Is there a full list of link types and their names that we can use with the JSON Importer? E.g. if issue X is cloned/blocked by issue Y. The example on https://confluence.atlassian.com/display/JIRA/Importing+Data+from+JSONonly shows how to import subtasks and duplicates.

Thanks,

Bridget
