JIRA disable/enable outgoing mail per project

Daniel Hauck December 21, 2016

Hey there,

we got a cloud hosted JIRA for the entire company here.

It's mostly used by Development, Operations and Project Management. So we have JIRA opened all day. Therefore we have turned off outgoing email, because we wanted to reduce the email spam.

Now we have a new team, that uses JIRA only a few days in the week and therefore want normal email notifications.

So now the question:
Is there a simple way, to configure outgoing email either via project or via user groups?

Thanks in advance!

Daniel

Look at the notification schemes.  They're designed to let you send email only to the people who need to be notified.  In your case, it may be easier to set up one that mails nobody, and use if for the quiet projects, and use a normal one for the new team, taking care to include only them in the roles that get emailed.

No, but you can simply attach a muted notification scheme to the project which you don't want notifications sent for, and these projects will become silent. When Atlassian managed to get the page online, this link should work again:

Rumors say they are moving mountains to make that happen. Checking out google earth as we speak, but can't see any being moved so far..

JIRA disable/enable outgoing mail per project:

How are your project permissions set?

If you receive too many notifications and wish to disable them, the following steps will help you. Before you start with the disabling process you need to check if you have the permission to edit the project. You can check that by clicking on the settings bar and if a dropdown box with “Projects” appears then you have the rights to edit.

Step 1:  Click on projects to see all project list
