Thank you Ricardo,

Is that upgrade absolutelly necessary (can we go strait to 6.0.8 from 4.1?)Can we do that upgrade as a part of OnDemand license installation? Is our "old" db going to be saved and utilized in version 6.0.8?

Regards,

Frank

It is necessary to upgrade from JIRA 4.1 to 4.4.5 first before going to 6.0.8. Reason being, there is a big change in User Management on JIRA 4.3 hence we highly recommend users prior to 4.3 to upgrade to 4.4.5 first. The upgrade process mentioned in Upgrading JIRA 3.x to 6.x should apply for upgrading JIRA prior to 4.3 as well.

As for the license, you can generate an Evaluation license for Download/Hosted instance and use it for upgrading purpose in your Test environment.

Hi Frank

To migrate to OnDemand you will have to be in the last version available, currently v. 6.0.8. To upgrade your instance, in your case 4.1, you can first upgrade to JIRA 4.4.5 (the last version 4 JIRA) and than upgrade to JIRA 6.0.8 directly.

Please refer to this documentation for aditional help:

Hope it helps
