JIRA custom field pre-filled based on log-in

I've created custom field "TEAM" that is a select box to indicate 3 physical teams running same sprint and commiting to the same PO (Product Backlog).

To avoid not assigned issues (I've made a field required). All works fine and also allows to create 3 separate custom boards (per team) that filter issues on the TEAM field.

One thing is missing: how to make JIRA pre-fill that field based on user login. If a logged in user is among those guys... then this value shall be picked.

Is there a way to "explain" such a sophisticated logic to JIRA?

Thanks in advance,

Hey there, Aquarius.

As of now, Atlassian does not have any plans on introducing any dynamic custom field as mentioned in the following Feature request:

As mentioned by Roy Krishna, you can try the alternatives of checking the following:

1. JIRA Development Hub - http://confluence.atlassian.com/display/JIRA/JIRA+Development+Hub

2. JIRA Development Forum - http://forums.atlassian.com/forum.jspa?forumID=100

3. Atlassian Experts / Partners - http://confluence.atlassian.com/display/APW/Partner+Wiki+Home

Hope this helps!

Warm regards,
