Hello collaboration community,
as I have an upcoming challenge with following proposed combination and need help, I'd like to post this question:
Given both tools: JIRA (50 user license) and Confluence (100 user license), using JIRA as user server for Confluence having created 150 users in JIRA as following:
So, more general: Can JIRA (as user server) handle more than the users it's own license allows?
Thanks for any hint!
Cheers
Kai
Yes. You can have a very large list of users in JIRA's user database. The applications consult their licences separately and simply count up people in the group(s) that are allowed access. A JIRA with a 25 seat licence doesn't care if you have say 500 users, and you put 99 of them into confluence-users (so that they can all use confluence), just don't put more than 25 into Jira-users.
