JIRA and Confluence Links Edited

I have an issue where when I am logged into JIRA using the IP http://adsvm1:8080/secure/Dashboard.jspa

When wanting to log into confluenece using the IP address of http://adsvm1:8090/dashboard.action

I am asked to log into confluence and once this is done JIRA logs iteself out, vice versa.

How can I use both at the same time without having to log in each time and the other log me out.

Point to note I do have application links in place.

Any help would be much appreciated

Hello Michael,

I have never experienced something like that but off the top of my head I would say it could have to do something with JIRA and Confluence Base URL.

When JIRA logs in user, it creates a cookie in the browser. When you have two applications with the same domain name I can imagine that cookies rewrite themselves. Can you check that you have correct Base URL set for both JIRA and Confluence (they should both include port number - 8080 for JIRA, 8090 for Confluence)?

Regards,
Martin

Both ports are different.

adsvm1:8080 is JIRA

adsvm1:8090 is confleunence

Both ports are different.

http://adsvm1:8080 is JIRA

http://adsvm1:8090 is confleunence

Hi Michael!

This can be caused if you haven't set a separate Context Path for each application. So for example, both are on the same localhost URL and use different ports, as you are doing, but not setting a context path.

You can see how to resolve it here: Logging into another Atlassian application logs me out of Confluence

There are two separate resolutions on the page, so be sure to check both.

Let us know if you have any trouble!

Kind Regards,
Shannon
