JIRA Upgrade Testing [UAT]

We are upgrading our JIRA instance from 6.3 to 7.3.  Would love to hear how you all have done user acceptance testing to validate your upgrades.  If you have any templates or documentation that you used for doing your testing, it would be much appreciated.

Hi

I'm interested in the different ways this can be done.

the manual way is to execute by hand the requirements / use cases.

we're doing some automation using the rest API to speed up the process of regression in some cases but I'm not sure if there's a better way

i opened a similar discussion  some days ago to get opinions from the community
