JIRA-Search (Customfield) with Wildcards

Dear Sir or Madam,

following situation:

Each ticket got an ID; for example XXXPR00012345

No I want to search for this ID. But not with the whole string; I only want to search for 12345.

Is this possible without a plugin.

Kind Regards,

Christian

It's not, without some add-on.  I'm not sure it's of that much use, as specifying part of a key is useless without the project key anyway.

However, that format of key is not a JIRA issue key, so I'm guessing it might be a custom field instead?  If so, what type of field is it?  (text custom fields can be searched for partial strings)
