JIRA Schedule Issues permission - Separate view and edit?

Currently, users with the Schedule Issues permission see the 'Due Date' field and have editing rights.

Is it possible to separate permissions for viewing the Due Date field from editing the field? We would like all of our users to see the Due Date associated with tickets (and monitor dashboard calendar gadgets), but only want managers altering those dates.

Look for the 'Schedule Issues' permission in the Permission Scheme. Adjust this so only certain groups or users have rights to edit. All should still be able to view the date but only the select few can edit.
