JIRA Project Admin doesn't have board admin privileges on boards within that project

Matt Mondfrans October 3, 2018

Hi,

I've created a project and added 3 people as project admins, however, they are unable to configure the boards within that project unless they are also added as a board admin. According to this page https://confluence.atlassian.com/jirasoftwarecloud/configuring-a-board-764477974.html the project admin privileges should translate to the board.

"To configure the board and any of its settings, you must be either:

  • project administrator for the location of the board
  • board administrator for the board itself"

Anyone have any insight? Thanks

Hello

The document you added is for Jira Cloud. I understand that you use Jira server. Check server's documents:

https://confluence.atlassian.com/jirasoftwareserver/configuring-a-board-938845252.html

It says:

"You must be a Jira administrator or a board administrator for the board to modify its configuration."

Regards.
