Hi

To setup JIRA premise server, what is recommandable from below:

1. Will it be fine , if setup our own machine by follow below points:

https://confluence.atlassian.com/display/JIRA/JIRA+Requirements#JIRARequirements-JIRAServerHardwareRecommendationforProduction

(basically, 25 JIRA users and 3 to 5 projects , 4 GB RAM machine with latest server machine )

OR have to follow,

1. Do we have to host at some external hosting provider like, "Cloud Shard" as below:

https://www.cloudshards.com/jirahosting.php

Please share me your view, what would be recommandable.

Thank You

Hi, you can install this yourself and host it yourself provided you have the skills and time to look after it. What happens if it goes down? What happens if you have performance issues? Will someone be looking after any security issues, patching of the OS, backups, etc?

Make sure your server is stable and fast. Make sure your network is capable to handle it.

At the end of the day, it just comes down to if it's worth the time and effort for you to host it or to outsource it.

Have you predicted future growth? If you outgrow the server you have, you will have to manage the upgrades hardware and software for it.
