JIRA Notification Scheme for a projet & Default Notifications for JIRA Service Desk

laurent dumont February 9, 2015

Hi,

We use JIRA Service Desk and the Customer Portal.

We have kept the default notification scheme for JIRA Service Desk because notifications sent by this way are really good.

But we have also a specific JIRA Notification Scheme for the project used for the Service Desk. In that scheme, for the creation of an issue, the N+1 of the reporter mentioned in the Customer Portal should receive a notification.

But the N+1 does not receive any notification.

In fact, we don't understand the sentence written in the Atlassian documentation : "If the Notifications setting for JIRA Service Desk is enabled, the JIRA notification scheme takes effect for the other users". What do they mean by "other users".

Many thanks in advance

I'm not entirely sure I understand the configuration you're describing in the first question - what do you mean by "the N+1 of the reporter"?

The sentence, "If the Notifications setting for JIRA Service Desk is enabled, the JIRA notification scheme takes effect for the other users," means that your Service Desk customers will receive notifications as defined in the Service Desk Notification Scheme; all other users - Collaborators, Agents, etc. - are subject to the Notification Scheme configured for the JIRA project associated with the Service Desk. This is illustrated at this link.
