JIRA Mobile Connector - IOS Usage doubts and Andriod App Update for Uisng JMC

Malayamaan April 20, 2016

The functionality of JMC in IOS is working as expected for the issues type. But the Jira Software Mobile App is not showing up the Dashboards / Projects / Boards (Sprint Boards) and some Administrative tabs – Is there any way to activate those items in the mobile App (Jira Software of IOS)?

Also, I came to know that Mobile App for Android is not available? Is there any workaround or any app to install and use the Jira Mobile Connector from Android Devices?

Hi,

Basically JIRA doesn't have APP for any of the mobiles. JIRA is viewed on a mobile device via a web interface (optimized for mobile devices), not an app. Simply browse to your JIRA server's URL using your mobile browser to bring up the mobile interface for JIRA.

Also you can access the OnDemand Site in mobile, just enter the URL of your JIRA OnDemand site in your mobile web browser.

The Listed Mobile Platform are supported JIRA in mobile:

 Mobile Safari (iOS, iPod touch and iPhone only) — Latest stable version

  • Android — The default browser on Android 4.0.3 (Ice Cream Sandwich)

For Access the Dashboards / Projects / Boards (Sprint Boards) and some Administrative tabs you can switching the Mobile interface to the desktop interface via the mobile menu.

The JIRA mobile interface has been designed to give users quick access to their issues on the go. This includes;

  • Viewing issues, comments, attachments, issue links and your favourite filters.
  • Performing basic operations like adding comments, watching or voting on issues and assigning issues to users.

If you need to create or modify issues on the go, you can still do so by switching to the desktop interface via the mobile menu.

By Default the JIRA mobile is enable in the JIRA Site. if you want to disable, You can disable JIRA mobile for your site, so that users will only be able to access the desktop view of JIRA on their mobile device.

JIRA mobile is a implemented as a add-on in JIRA, so you can disable it by disabling the add-on. For instructions on disabling add-ons, see Managing Add-ons. Note, JIRA mobile is a System Plugin.
