JIRA Downgrade from 6.3.1 to 6.2.7

Simon Wu October 30, 2014

Hi,

I have installed JIRA 6.3.1 and found that there are quite a lot of users which is using IE 8. So I have no choice and I have to downgrade to JIRA 6.2.7. I have existing projects in 6.3.1. May I know how to downgrade with current projects and workflows still be able to access?

Simon

There is no downgrade process.

You could try exporting the xml, hack the version number and try importing it into a 6.2, but it's unlikely to work without some hacking of the actual data as well.

There's actually a very good chance that getting your users to upgrade IE to a supportable version (or better, use a proper browser) is less work than getting a downgrade done.  Especially as you kind of need them to be upgraded in the next two months...
